If you’re having trouble signing in to your account, we’re here to help you get in. Here’s some common sign in issues and how to fix them.
I forgot my sign in information
It’s okay, there are a few ways to sign in with just one piece of information like your email, phone number, or user ID.
Your user ID is typically an email address. If you enter the email address associated with your QuickBooks account, Intuit will send a one-time code to that email to access your account.
If you can't remember which email you used, try entering a phone number. Intuit will text you a one-time code to access your account.
I am locked out of my Quickbooks account
If you're locked out of your QuickBooks Online account you'll see the following message: Too many invalid attempts, account is locked out for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, you can try to sign in again with a phone number, email or user ID.
I reset my password and now I cannot sign in
Your old password could still be saved in your internet browser. Try to enter your password manually, if you still can’t sign in you’ll need to clear the data so you can use your new password. Once you’ve done this, close your browser and reopen it.
I need a confirmation code
If you’re asked for a confirmation code after you sign in:
- Select how you’d like to receive your confirmation code, then select Continue.
- If you can’t access the email account or phone number listed, select the option Sign in a different way.
- Retrieve the confirmation code.
- Enter the confirmation code, then select Continue.
If you can't verify your account by having a code emailed to your registered email address, you can send us a request to recover your account.
I don't have a login
- From the sign in page, select Create an account.
- Select an appropriate plan and follow the next steps.
- Enter your email address and phone number.
- Create a password, then select One more step.
- Follow the steps to complete billing and payments to get started.
I was invited to QuickBooks and can't sign in
If you have a user ID with your invitation, it should ask you to sign in. If not, you’ll have a link to create one with the email address the invite was sent to. After you create a user ID, you’ll be able to sign in.
How to contact customer support after you successfully sign in
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
- Select Help (?) at the top right.
- In QB Assistant, enter the topic you need help with. You can also enter questions.
- Go to Search and select Contact Us to reach out to our support team.
- Choose a way to connect with us:
- Start a chat with a support expert available (6 A.M - 6 P.M) Mon-Fri and (6 A.M - 3 P.M) UTC.
